"We can't use the toilet or the sink because the drains aren't flowing out," says Lee. "The water's coming up through the ground so we've asked the council for sandbags to put across a few vulnerable bits, but we're still waiting."

"That said, I'm quietly confident it won't reach the house but ours' is lower than the neighbours so while they could escape we might not be so lucky."
