The children are aged four to 11 and they all learn sign language to communicate with the 22 deaf children.

There is a specialist unit but they are also taught with the mainstream children.

Ms Horne said: "That has developed tolerance and understanding and the acceptance of difference."

School pupils speak 33 languages between them.
