Off with their wigs?

The wig and gown, historic emblems of British courts, could be for the chop. A new survey reveals 64% of the public would like to see changes to court dress and the Lord Chancellor's department has come up with some "makeover" suggestions.

The current costume dates from the 18th Century. These lawyers are wearing "full bottomed" ceremonial wigs, as opposed to shorter, everyday "bench wigs".
