Last year UK coastguards responded to 174 potentially fatal incidents involving children being dangerously cut off by tides.

A new survey suggests many parents are unaware of such dangers when they take their families to the seaside.

In response a new guide has been launched, called Sea Smart, to encourage people to take more care.
