Global net explosion The net's seeds were sown as a US military project in the late 1960s. It tried to make computers talk and understand each other, even after a nuclear attack. Scientists and academics developed it throughout the 1980s, eventually turning it into a navigable World Wide Web in the mid-1990s. Ever since, net user numbers have exploded. |
