In Iraq, the widows and children of soldiers killed in the war are struggling to survive. They have no support from the Coalition, and have to rely on charity to obtain food and cooking gas. These problems are also endured by soldiers incapacitated by their wounds.

Hugh Sykes went to the town of Hillah in central Iraq to meet some of these families.
