In Pictures: Kenyan girls flee circumcision

Female circumcision, or female genital mutilation, is a common practise in many African countries.

Recently, some Kenyan 100 girls fled their homes to seek shelter in churches to avoid being circumcised or early marriage.

Circumcision is most common in the districts of Narok and Kisii, despite being outlawed in 2001.

Some of the girls told their stories to BBC News Online.
