In pictures: Women are taking activist roles in Egypt

This rally was held on the steps of the Doctors Syndicate in downtown Cairo. It is known as the unofficial headquarters of the Muslim Brotherhood. Dr Mina and her supporters are restricted to standing in the stairs. If they step onto the sidewalk they risk arrest. When she is asked if the police presence bothers her she laughs "I see them so often, they have become my friends."
