Cardiff council said it was always keen to reopen the house and preserve features such as this fireplace. Council executive member for culture, leisure and sport Nigel Howells said: "I think this is something really special for the community and it's a unique community building within Cardiff. We have always thought Insole Court is an important part of Cardiff's history and heritage and bringing it into community use is how it should be."
