In pictures: Countdown to News Day

News Day is structured to mirror a real newsroom, so the children will have to hold news meetings, gather their stories, decide on a running order, then film and edit their interviews and bulletins – all to a strict deadline.

This final practice will determine which pupils take on which roles – from researcher to news presenter.

Trainee teacher Deepak Aggarwal will be on hand on the day as news editor, to pick up any slips in grammar or spelling.
