		Water shortages While low-lying Bangladesh suffers numerous floods and cyclones, the north-western district of Rajshahi is one of several areas experiencing serious water shortages. Women hold a street rally, symbolically carrying empty pots to highlight the shortage of water for drinking, irrigation and agriculture. The greatest burden falls on women, who are forced to travel further to collect water.
