In pictures: Climate change in Bangladesh

		Silt islands Many of Bangladesh's landless poor have settled on silt islands known as chars, formed from sandbar deposits that emerge within river systems. But the islands are being reclaimed and eroded by the waters. In Sattarkandi, home to about 200 people in Gaibandha district, northern Bangladesh, a section of the bank suddenly collapses into the river. Families have moved away as erosion claims their homes.
