Going global

Among those who found global success were Lea and Armin Gottlieb, who survived the Holocaust in German-occupied Hungary.

The Gottliebs arrived emigrated to Israel in 1949, where, influenced by the Israeli climate, they began to design beachwear.

In 1956, the couple founded Gottex, which became a leading brand by the 1990s and was exported to some 80 countries around the world.
