Frank John Sarbeng from Ghana is one of many to have crossed from Libya to Italy by boat, arriving on the tiny island of Lampedusa, south of Sicily.
There were 25 people on the boat and it took them three days to cross. "Because of God nobody died," he says. "When we entered Lampedusa they just asked our name and the place we come from."
He was eventually given an expulsion order and five days to leave Italy, but says that without money, he did not understand how he could do so.
