Dollar rate

The euro fell rapidly to be worth less than $1 in the year after it was launched, but has gradually recovered since then.

After reaching a peak in the middle of 2008, the euro fell very sharply before recovering somewhat in recent months, as interest rates fluctuated along with perceptions of how much trouble the US and eurozone economies were in.
