Launch

The boat is finally launched. Thousands of people crowd around the harbour to watch the spectacle. There are cheers as the boat is put out to sea.

The launch is a powerful reminder that despite worries about the island's future, traditional ceremonies can still act as a powerful force for unity among islanders and make them feel proud of their rich culture.
