Silver helmets

It is the first time the clan have launched a boat in 30 years and elaborate rituals must be followed.

Before the launch, evil spirits are scared away.

On the eve of the launch, the clan invite special guests to join them. Elderly male guests are dressed in their finest costumes - including silver helmets. The group sing songs describing the building of the boat, its beauty, as well as their wishes for the future safety of its crew and good fishing catches.
