		Detention The migrants await their fate at Mahachai police station. Their hands have been numbered with marker pens to help the police keep track of them – there are inevitable communication problems as few of the workers speak Thai. Their only hope of avoiding deportation is if their bosses have been holding work permits for them, and bring them to the police station. If they have sufficient cash they may also be able to bribe their way out.
