Dependent on the sea

With more than 1,000 registered boats, Camocim is believed to have the biggest traditional fishing fleet in the world.

More than 6,000 people out of Camocim’s population of 54,000 depend directly on the sea for a living.

It is their livelihoods that the project is aiming to protect.
