"We started with nothing," Ms Paye said. "We picked cassava leaves from the bush and sold them in the market so we could buy food for our children. Any money we had left went towards this building."

The Ganta Concerned Women's Group is now well on its way to building a thriving cassava plantation and processing factory.

After two decades of extreme poverty and uncertainty they hope to finally find some security for their families.
