Going to school

To run a successful business Ganta's women knew they needed to read and do basic mathematical calculations.

At Tonglewin village Unesco is paying a teacher to run women's classes twice a week.

The classes are held at the village school when they return from the field and the children have finished. Liberia's electricity system was destroyed in the war, and the women work until the sun goes down.
