In pictures: Kousseri refugees
Thousands displaced

Kousseri, in far northern Cameroon, is normally a sleepy border town, but in the past week it has been transformed by the arrival of thousands of refugees.

The town is now full to bursting with civilians who fled the recent fighting in Chad.

A lucky few are crammed into hotels, schools or churches, but many are forced to sleep out in the open.

Hundreds of displaced people are camped out in this clearing, sleeping under trees.
