Slowly but surely

Leon Neneby, director-general of the new hotel, says the project to move the functions of government will take time.

"It will happen as the investment and buildings come. The essential stage is the hotel for the MPs and this is now functioning.

"Then will come the national assembly and then the presidential palace. Little by little the government will move here so that it will really feel like the new capital with all the activity and people you’d expect."
