		Ethnic balance The festival is largely an Arab gathering of the Rizeigat. But the black African Fur community - who gave Durfur its name and are the region's biggest - were also well represented, by Malik Rahimtullah Mahmoud of Fasher, the oldest tribal chief in Darfur and one of the most prominent. At his side was another Fur, Magdum Mohammed Adam Rijal, an activist widely considered to be one of the most enlightened tribal chiefs in Darfur. Many Fur have been displaced by Darfur's conflict.
