Rhondda Cynon Taf says it is keen to recycle as much as possible and is always looking for new markets.
It has just introduced recycling for cartons like Tetra Paks, and a trial collection of food waste.
Many electrical items picked up as bulky waste are in fact recycled, and it wants a separate collection.
As for clothes, waste manager Keith Lewis does not want to "step on the toes" of charities offering recycling locally.
The council says its website has up-to-date information.
