Metal scrapyard

The aluminium cans are sent to an aluminium company (the council is currently between contracts so it is not possible to say which one) and turned back into aluminium.

The steel cans are taken to Sims Metal - part of Australian-owned global company Sims - a big, busy scrapyard about 20 miles away in Neath Abbey.

Sims crushes and bales the cans and sends them onto the Corus steelworks a few miles away.
