In pictures: Recycling in Barnet

Alex Cowlishaw, 27, who works in charity marketing, lives in Mill Hill in north London.

She regularly recycles paper, glass and cans in her household box, and sometimes clothes.

They are all mixed together in the black box which is picked up by Barnet Council every Tuesday.

Barnet also collects batteries, shoes, mobiles, aerosols, foil and telephone directories.

Alex would like to know why plastics are not collected.
