A group of girls from Save our Sisters Bahini went on assignment to the temple during the festival of Dasain, when worshippers go to sacrifice goats and chickens to the Hindu goddess Durga, destroyer of evil.

"The girls did a great reportage job," says Ms Carpenter, "shooting the temple-goers, incense sticks, idols and offerings. Twelve-year-old Laxmi - who like everyone else was lent a camera for the day - has captured a boy who is captivated by the flames and incense smoke."
