Mr Mahmoud searches for scrap metal, such as tins and beer cans, and anything else of value, like clothing or computer parts.

He works here six days a week for about 12 hours a day.

The work is tough but Mr Mahmoud says he has grown used to the conditions.

"I don't mind the smell now," he says.
