In pictures: Palestinian rubbish dump

Firas Mahmoud stands outside his one-storey home in the southern West Bank town of Yatta.

He uses the washing machine to clean shoes that he finds at a rubbish dump close to his home, where he works everyday.

Mr Mahmoud use to work in Israel, but because of the restrictions on Palestinians’ movement imposed by the Israeli authorities and the lack of economic opportunities in the West Bank, he now works at the dump.
