In pictures: When the ship comes in

It is dawn, and in the Falklands town of Stanley people are preparing for the arrival of passengers from the last cruise ship of the summer season.

A harbour patrol boat carrying customs and immigration officers makes the short journey to Port William where the Norwegian Crown, on a South American cruise, is anchored with its 1,100 passengers.

They will stamp passports from all over the world - including the UK, Argentina, France, and the US - before allowing the passengers to disembark.
