Planes

The museum's collection of planes dominates many of the hangars.

Its Lockheed 749 Constellation was used to carry equipment and staff during the Rolling Stones' tour of the Far East and Australia in 1973. It ended its working life ferrying cattle between Dublin and Libya in 1974.

Other aircraft include a de Havilland Comet and a Hawker-Siddeley Trident, a medium-haul jet that entered service in 1962.

When the Trident arrived the tyres had to be let down just to get it in the hangar.
