The site is also packed with a number of "world firsts" including the first full-sized hovercraft the SR-N1.
Built in 1959 and used for four years as a test vehicle, it showed that the hovercraft concept was practical.
Innovations like this will be housed in a subterranean cavern at the new site. As well as acting as a showcase for artefacts, it will also help preserve them.
