In pictures: Life in Stanley

Stanley Racecourse is a sleepy looking place in autumn, but it's the scene of some serious racing and betting during an annual three-day racing meet at Christmas, followed by other events in January and February.

Locally-bred horses compete alongside imported thoroughbreds from countries such as nearby Chile.
