In pictures: Coping with the floods

A young neighbour playing in the garden calls over to Mrs Saunders.

"The flood's are a nightmare, it's hell', she said.

Mrs Saunders was at work when she got a phone call telling her to come home immediately as her home was flooded.

She returned to the surreal site of a river surrounding her house and had to wade through waist-deep water to rescue their dog.
