The Hansens have yet to decide when, or if, Matthew will move to Stanley to continue his schooling at nine.

But like all Falklands children, he will have to get used to the prospect of leaving home if he wants to continue his education beyond GCSE level. With no provision on the islands, many youngsters travel 18 hours away to the UK to take A-levels and degrees, before deciding whether to return home to the South Atlantic.
