School run

Seven-year-old Matthew Hansen lives on a farm in such an isolated spot in the Falkland Islands that he can't attend normal school.

He instead receives camp education – "camp" being the Falklands name for any place outside the capital Stanley.

Every six weeks, a travelling teacher comes to live with the family for a fortnight, giving him lessons in a little prefab schoolroom on the farm. For the other four weeks, Matthew is taught by telephone, and by mum Susie and dad Ian.
