Education

Alejandro's schooling stopped at the age of nine, when he went to work in the fields. Education has improved since then but there is still a long way to go.

Joel and Alexander go to school in the nearby village of Murayata. They are in the same class despite the three-year age gap.

Lessons begin at 8am and end at noon. There are 150 pupils but only two proper classrooms.

Alexander wants to be a footballer, Joel a taxi driver - but Alejandro has other plans for them.
