Meal time

The Iriondos normally eat at the same time but they do not always sit down to eat together.

Their diet is made up of rice, plantain, bread, dried meat and the eggs provided by the six hens they keep.

"Our parents had to share one piece of bread among the whole family. They could not even buy salt - that is how poor they were," says Alejandro.

"Now we are coming out of that poverty a little."
