Photo journal: Afro-Bolivian family

The Iriondos live in one room and share two single beds. They rely on the rain to provide drinking water and bathe on Sundays in a nearby river.

There is no bathroom or kitchen.

Chijichpa has only had electricity for the last seven years. Teodora does all of the cooking on an open fire.

"I think I used to be the head of the family but now it is her. In truth, she is in charge" says Alejandro.
