Farming

Alejandro and Teodora grow maize, bananas, citrus and coffee but their main crop is coca.

The Yungas is a traditional coca-growing region. Used for tea and chewing, it is harvested three times a year.

The working day starts at 8am and ends at 5pm. Alejandro and Teodora earn less than $30 a week, and struggle to make ends meet.

"We rely on the rain. When it does not rain our crops suffer," says Alejandro.
