Pachamama and llamas

The Witches' Market in La Paz stocks the full works when it comes to Aymara religion. Here, Pachamama, the goddess Mother Earth, sits next to aromatic mounds of herbs and protective talismans - all surrounded by a heady smoke of incense. There are stalls stacked with rather disturbing piles of dried llama foetuses, which, once buried under one's house as an offering to Pachamama, are supposed to serve as protection against bad luck.
