Loud and lively conversations fill the city but the voice of dissent has gone silent. The omnipresent army and the secret police have made people wary of publicly disclosing political views.

While President Robert Mugabe's supporters maintain that he is a revolutionary liberation hero, others have become disenchanted by the country's political and economic decline, and quietly wish for change.
