In pictures: Sudan's slave voices
Knife

Maror Achier Kuol: "One day I told my abductor, Abderahman, I wanted to go home. He got angry and tried to cut my throat. I was able to dodge but his knife cut my eyebrow instead.

He told me to call him father and said my name was Hassan Abderahman. He said I was a Muslim but I did not listen.

There were lots of other Dinka children in the camp, who were beaten. One, Dut Mawech, died."

Maror was freed in a local scheme in which cattle vaccines are swapped for slaves.
