Every morning, the cows walk out of the camp in unison, almost as if an alarm has gone off. They leave like clockwork to graze after stopping at the waterhole to drink. Even here, the cows seem to have a regular spot that they head towards.
With the heat above 42C the cows must drink every day.
The huge horn skeletons scattered over the grasslands serve as a stark reminder.
