The presidential and parliamentary elections will be hotly contested.

Many feel that the ruling Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has not done enough to reduce poverty and are considering turning to other parties, such as the All People’s Congress or SLPP-breakaway party People’s Movement for Democratic Change.
