A meal a day

Instead people now barter with each other. Like, this man [pictured] who makes sleeping mats out of grass which he swaps with others in return for something that they have and he needs.

The most needy families have to survive on one meal a day with the majority of ingredients coming from a local benevolent fund in the capital.

Every three weeks two volunteers buy $600 worth of supplies on the black market. The fund currently supports 107 orphans and their families.
