The Godown Art Centre which gave the artists a forum to display their creativity plans to host the festival twice a year.

The centre's director, Joy Mboya, says Sanaa Noma is a way to celebrate functional art.

"Typically people walk past a kiosk or by a sign and don't pay any attention to it. But certainly when you have an exhibition and performances that focus on this, then you begin to appreciate how Kenyans express themselves using colour, language and wild imagination."
