A train carrying enough free mosquito nets for nearly one in ten of the population of the Republic of Congo has just travelled from the Atlantic port city of Pointe-Noire.

It was travelling along the Congo-Ocean railway through jungle, savannah and hills to the capital, Brazzaville, 500km inland.

This is part of the largest ever distribution of nets - by the end of the year the government says every pregnant woman and child under five will have one.
