There are few health facilities in the camp and at least three people die each week from malaria, cholera, dysentery or Aids-related illnesses.
Although people long for peace, they feel it is beyond their control.
Mr Alengo explains, "We are just civilians, we didn't choose this life. The government and the rebels did and so they must decide what to do now - let them sit and put it into dialogue.
"And whatever the outcome, we will be welcoming."
